After two weeks of computer problems (my mother's laptop crashed and Jason recovered her data to put onto a new laptop, then my external hard drive overheated and crashed taking 3 days to recover my data/photos to put onto a new hard drive...), I am back with more photos.
Natalie had her 2-month checkup and shots on March 5th. She weighed in at 9lbs 14oz (22nd percentile), height 21.5” (15%), and her head circumference came in at the highest 26% (38cm) – so we are hoping it is holding many high-quality brain cells! The pediatrician commented on her good head control and shoulder strength. Natalie smiled and flirted with him, despite having a wife and kids of his own, so we have some work to do…
Natalie still is not a fan of tummy time, although she does tolerate it longer than she used to. She will smile back at you if you smile at her and she does occasionally hold a short conversation with you. She has discovered her tongue, so will stick it out, and make faces. She has also re-discovered her hands and chews on her fist.
She is doing well at daycare. The first two days she was very overwhelmed and slept from the moment I picker her up until around 1am, when she would eat, and fall back asleep. This past week she has been much better about being alert in the evenings after daycare. They have lots of bouncy seats and swings, the two things she likes best. I have still gone to nurse her over lunch, but a couple of times she has not been hungry, so we just snuggle for 20 minutes and I go back to work to eat. Daycare has a high boy to girl ratio, and I have discussed with Natalie that she is much too young to have a boyfriend, so I do not want to hear about her flirting or sharing pacifiers with the boys. She just smiles at me…
This past weekend Natalie has been increasingly fussy. She has been congested for the better part of a week, and is drooling and gnawing on her hands, so we believe we are teething again. There are no obvious teeth poking through, like her first one did, but if you run your finger along her gum line, it is very rough. We are hoping that the fussiness (and congestion) subsides over this upcoming week before we attend a wedding on Saturday. I do not think a screaming 2 month old is the bride’s idea of an appropriate noisemaker.
With another busy weekend ahead, there will most certainly be a delay in posting additional photos. Have a good week!
